The renewal distribution agreement with Air Niugini has been announced today by Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ :SABR), a leading software and technology provider that powers the global travel industry.

While giving Sabre – connected travel agents ongoing access to Air Niugini content, the deal would ensure that the airline could continue to reach Sabre’s extensive network of global travel buyers.

Strong and long – term relationship between Air Niugini and Sabre reinforces further renewal. Moreover, Air Niugini uses the Sabre Sonic Passenger Service System (PSS) to deliver a more tailored customer experience and capture full revenue opportunities.

The agreement with Sabre has also been renewed by the carrier to be a distributor of Sabre’s Global Distribution System (GDS) in Papua New Guinea, giving travel agents in the Pacific region opportunities to adopt Sabre’s intuitive Sabre Red 360 workspace.

Paul Abbott, general Manager, Commercial and Distribution, Air Niugini declared that they were delighted to renew their important distribution agreement with Sabre as they get ready to enter into their next half century.

As well as with travel restrictions now lifted to Papua New Guinea, it’s vital that they continue to work with Sabre, their preferred technology buyers access to the fares and offers they need to create enhanced experiences for their leisure and corporate travellers.

Air Niugini provides the country’s most comprehensive domestic network linking scattered communities throughout the country and local business with each other that is based out of Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby. With little roading infrastructure in a country, the airline plays a vital role in the development of Papua New Guinea.

It connects Papua New Guinea to the world, with direct international flights to destinations including Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, Solomon Island, and Fiji.

To put in more spirit Rakesh Narayanan, Vice President, Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific and Travel Solutions Airline Sales stated that as travel recovery continues apace in Asia Pacific, it is important that airlines in the region are able to reach travellers across the world through Sabre’s extensive network of global buyers, and that travel agents have access to rich airline content.

He also noted that we are thrilled to continue their valued relationship with Air Niugini as the airline prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary by welcoming increasing numbers of travellers to its destinations in Papua New Guinea and the wider Asia – Pacific region.
