AirAsia has unveiled its much-anticipated fixed fare initiative for the upcoming festive seasons, ensuring affordable and accessible travel for all. This year, the airline is focused on providing cost-effective solutions for travelers looking to celebrate Lunar New Year and Hari Raya with family and friends. The initiative marks another step in AirAsia’s commitment to offering passengers greater value and flexibility during peak travel periods.
For the 2026 festive season, AirAsia will operate an impressive 1,578 flights across various routes, catering to over 31,000 passengers during the combined Lunar New Year and Hari Raya travel periods. The fixed fares initiative provides an opportunity for travelers to secure affordable one-way tickets for popular destinations, making it easier for families to reunite and create lasting memories. This marks a significant investment in connecting major cities and ensuring travelers experience convenience at competitive prices.
Minister of Transport, YB Loke Siew Fook said: “Ensuring Malaysians travel home affordably during key festive seasons continues to be a priority for the government. AirAsia’s fixed fares initiatives reflect a strong commitment by the airline to support this goal by keeping air travel within reach for more families. Such efforts work hand in hand with existing government measures, including the RM400 FLYsiswa programme, which assists students travelling between Peninsular and East Malaysia. We remain supportive of further collaboration across the aviation industry to strengthen connectivity and benefit the rakyat.”
Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia said: “AirAsia is kicking off the new year with double festive celebrations, offering our annual fixed fare initiatives for both the Lunar New Year and Hari Raya. With more than 31,000 seats available during the festive period, this initiative is part of our commitment to help Malaysians travel affordably and plan ahead for the festive season. We are proud to support government efforts in ensuring smooth and accessible travel for all, particularly during high-demand periods.”

In particular, AirAsia is offering flights to Sarawak at RM328, with routes connecting Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu. Meanwhile, flights to Sabah are available at RM398 for routes between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, and Sandakan. These promotions are designed to cater to the growing demand for flights during the peak travel seasons, particularly as people travel home to celebrate important cultural events.
To take advantage of these fixed fares, travelers can book their tickets now until 24 February 2026 for travel during the Lunar New Year period, from 13 to 24 February 2026. For those planning their Hari Raya holidays, the same fare options are available, with booking dates extended until 26 March 2026 for travel between 18 and 26 March 2026. This flexibility gives passengers ample time to plan their festive getaways without worrying about rising ticket prices.

Over the past three years, AirAsia has gone above and beyond to ensure its passengers have access to affordable fares. The airline has offered more than 137,000 fixed-fare seats on routes connecting Peninsular Malaysia to East Malaysia, with additional flights to meet the surging demand during peak holiday periods. In response to this demand, the airline introduced 761 extra flights to destinations across East Malaysia, further expanding its offerings and giving families peace of mind when booking travel for these major holidays.
With this year’s fixed fare initiative, AirAsia is reinforcing its role as a reliable and affordable choice for travelers, providing seamless connectivity for festive journeys across the region. The airline encourages all guests to take advantage of the AirAsia MOVE app or airasia.com for a smooth booking experience. Additionally, AirAsia strongly recommends guests to use the e-boarding pass feature, which can be accessed up to 14 days prior to departure. This ensures a faster, more convenient check-in process and reduces wait times at the airport.

To further enhance the travel experience, AirAsia has streamlined its airport procedures. Passengers are encouraged to arrive early, with baggage drop counters opening three hours before international flights and two hours before domestic services. This proactive approach ensures travelers can breeze through the airport with minimal stress, making their holiday travel experience as smooth as possible.
As part of its ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction, AirAsia continues to prioritize the needs of its passengers by offering competitive prices, increasing capacity for key holiday periods, and leveraging technology to improve convenience. The airline’s dedication to connecting travelers with their loved ones at affordable prices is evident in this year’s fixed fare initiative, allowing families to reunite and celebrate festive seasons with ease.
