Airbnb Unveils Co-Host Network and 50+ Upgrades for Guests and Hosts in 2024 Winter Release, Offering Personalised App Experience and New Hosting Tools

In a major move to enhance both guest and host experiences, Airbnb has announced its 2024 Winter Release, introducing the Co-Host Network and over 50 upgrades designed to personalize and simplify the platform. This latest release aims to make hosting easier for property owners while providing a more tailored experience for guests, from search to booking.

Co-Host Network: Simplifying Hosting on Airbnb

Airbnb’s new Co-Host Network allows hosts to easily hire experienced local co-hosts directly through the app. Co-hosts manage tasks such as guest communication, booking management, and listing optimization. With more than 10,000 co-hosts across 10 countries, Airbnb offers hosts access to co-hosts who are often Superhosts or who manage highly-rated properties. The Co-Host Network is designed to provide exceptional service, with co-hosts averaging a rating of 4.86 stars.

“With the Co-Host Network, we’re taking the work out of hosting,” said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky. “You provide the home, and we’ll provide an exceptional co-host.”

More Personalized App for Guests

Airbnb has also unveiled over 50 upgrades aimed at personalizing the guest experience. These updates include:

Suggested Destinations and Search Filters based on past trips and search history.
Personalized Listing Highlights that feature amenities relevant to a guest’s travel preferences, such as family-friendly features like playrooms or backyards.
Localized Payments, allowing guests to pay using regional methods like Vipps in Norway and MoMo in Vietnam.

“For decades, travel apps have been one-size-fits-all. We’re changing that,” said Chesky, emphasizing the shift towards a more customized travel experience.

Upgrades for Hosts:

In addition to guest upgrades, Airbnb is launching more than 20 new features for hosts, including:

Price Tips that suggest competitive rates based on similar listings in the area.
Quick Replies through customizable templates for communicating with guests.
An enhanced Earnings Dashboard for tracking income and viewing upcoming payments.

Availability

The Co-Host Network is now available in 10 countries, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, Mexico, and the UK. The updates for both guests and hosts will begin rolling out globally today, offering a more streamlined and personalized Airbnb experience just in time for the winter travel season.

With these innovations, Airbnb is taking significant steps towards enhancing the overall experience for both hosts and travelers, setting a new standard in the vacation rental and travel industry.
