Most of the airlines have cancelled more than 100 flights on Saturday ahead of predicted bad weather condition.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for snow and ice in much of England and parts of Scotland ahead of another cold front from the east. The Transatlantic New York and Chicago are among more than 80 flights grounded by British Airways.
There are other domestic flights to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester have been cancelled, as well as services to Amsterdam, Dublin, Geneva and Paris, due to the bad weather conditions.
British Airways officials said in an official statement that due to wintry weather and restrictions at some of the major airports, the flights fly to and from, and merged a small number of Heathrow flights to ensure that the vast majority of our customers are able to travel to their destinations as planned.
They also send an apology for this delay of the services. British Airways also offered to postpone the journeys up till Wednesday.
Lufthansa and its budget wing Eurowings, have cancelled 10 flights, including services to Frankfurt, Munich and Salzburg. Air France and its partner KLM has also cancelled its trips from their hubs at Paris and Amsterdam. SAS to Oslo and Swiss to Zurich are also affected.
A spokesperson for the Heathrow Airport, which is the busiest in Europe, said that for the bad weather may result in minor delays and some airlines consolidating flights, significant disruption at Heathrow is not currently expected.
