An inverted pyramid of conspiracy theories went viral in November last year. The pyramid at the bottom, includes ‘Big Tobacco lied about lung cancer’. Right at the very top of the capitalist pyramid is airlines.

It is reported that since the pandemic, the cost of flying has soared and the quality has plummeted.

The costs keep going up and the airlines blame the pandemic. They also blame the fuel and make the airport staff responsible for the strikes. Michael O’Leary, the chief executive of Ryanair stated that the cost of flights would rise by 15 percent over the summer.

Families could pay for the large – carry-on baggage or aisle seats without the meaning of the cost of all into one set cost of a flight, In other words, it enabled flexibility and consumer choice, all the things capitalism is known for achieving through competitive markets.

The airline industry is rife with competition, especially in Europe. And yet, no one seems to be competing on price anymore.
