At the time of the pandemic situation, the national tourism industry, comprising Alaska’s, took a hugehit.

At that time, cruise ship tours were stopped or radically scaled back, border limits got stricter and were enforced between Canada and the U.S. Also, airlines were required to adhere to the federal guidelines.

As per the report of KarinneWiebold, the state economist, the tourism industry of Alaska has since begun to revive, from employment to visitor number, coming by airplane and cruise ship.

The tourism season of Alaska is almost here, and the ones who are associated with the cruise ship industry are quite confidentto experience a full schedule of ships from this month until October 2023 for the first time since 2019.

For cruise travel, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, raised all danger warnings at the end of March 2023, and suggestedthe passengersof cruise ship to have up-to-date COVID-19 vaccines.

The Cruise Lines International Association praised the decision by the CDC, nationally, and said eliminating the travel health notice places the cruise industry on a level playing field with the ones on land. Those in the tourism industry, in Alaska, are enthralled to see a full slate of cruise ships return to the state.

In the last two years, it’s a sign of how far they’ve come. Obviously there’s a lot that goes into resuming this type of travel and doing it safely,” Visit Anchorage’s Community Engagement Director Jack Bonney said. “You know, there is no travel without a peace of mind.”
