Alexandria, VirginiaAlexandria, Virginia is a city on the Potomac River, just south of Washington, DC becomes the No.1 destination in United States.

 

 

Alexandria, Virginia, beat out the home of Disneyland, one of Florida’s premiere beach resort towns and the City of Brotherly Love to be named the No. 1 travel destination in the U.S.

 

 

It was based according to the study which said that it picked the spots that deliver the highest value for the dollar, said the top 10 destinations are places where “quality, cost, and value come together to provide a terrific travel experience.”

 

 

The average cost for two people to spend a week in Alexandria is $2,540. The average airfare to Reagan National Airport is $303.

 

 

And the average cost of a night at a hotel is $140. That’s only about half what visitors pay for a night in a hotel in downtown D.C. It is also highlighted also the city’s dining scene; boutiques and galleries, such as the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and performance venues, such as the Birchmere Music Hall.
