As the interest in cruise vacations among Spanish speakers surges, AmaWaterways is expanding its offerings to cater to this burgeoning segment. Known for its Latin Touch cruises tailored specifically for Spanish-speaking guests, AmaWaterways will introduce the beloved Enticing Douro itinerary to its Latin Touch roster in 2025. This luxurious eight-day voyage is set to launch on November 25, 2025, aboard the 102-passenger AmaDouro, beginning in the vibrant, pastel-hued city of Porto and sailing to the charming Vega de Terrón in Spain, before circling back. Prices start at $3,283 per person, based on double occupancy. Additionally, travelers have the option to extend their experience with a three-night pre-cruise stay in Lisbon, which includes upscale accommodations, daily tours, and breakfasts for an additional $990 per person, based on double occupancy.

The Latin Touch Enticing Douro cruise will be managed by a bilingual Cruise Manager and features daily excursions with Spanish-speaking guides, as well as daily cruise activities, newsletters, and menus all available in Spanish. The cruise will feature engaging Zumba classes and two nights of vibrant Latin-themed entertainment.

Excursions include a journey to the ancient Roman city of Salamanca in Spain, a center for the Spanish language with roots stretching back to medieval times; a traditional Portuguese lunch at a local quinta (country estate) in Regua, followed by an afternoon visit to the Baroque Palacio de Mateus and its enchanting gardens; and an exploration of Porto’s UNESCO-listed historic quarter, including the nearly three-century-old Cathedral and the São Bento Railway Station, adorned with blue and white tile panels that illustrate Portuguese history. Wine enthusiasts will have multiple opportunities to delve into the famed Port wines of the region, such as a visit to Quinta da Avessada, which houses an engaging wine museum in the Alto Douro region. Adventure seekers can hike to Castelo Rodrigo, a historic hilltop village with ancient fortifications and panoramic views, or ascend the 686 ornate steps of the 275-year-old Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios.

The AmaDouro itself offers luxuriously furnished staterooms, many with balconies overlooking the scenic terraces and vineyards of the UNESCO-protected Douro River Valley. Rooms are equipped with Entertainment-On-Demand, providing complimentary high-speed Internet, unlimited Wi-Fi, and a variety of entertainment options, along with climate-controlled air conditioning and a personal safe. The ship’s Panoramic Lounge offers a perfect setting for enjoying a drink and evening entertainment. Onboard amenities include a massage room, fitness center, sun-deck swimming pool, and a gift shop. The Main Restaurant presents exquisite regional dishes paired with select wines, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
