Amazon launches Alexa for Hospitality

AlexaAmazon has announced the launch of Alexa for Hospitality giving  new experiences that will be offered by invitation to hoteliers. It is further expected that the new service will add to simplicity and conveniences  to hotels, vacation rental and other hospitality locations.

 

 

With the help of Amazon Echo in  hotel rooms guests can easily ask Alexa for hotel information. Guests can easily contact the hotel for guest services, play music in their room and more.

 

 

Guests can seamlessly access services and amenities during their stay, in the hospitality sector Alexa is bound to deepen the guest engagement.

 

 

Daniel Rausch, vice president, Amazon mentioned that the customers find it easier to get information, enjoy entertainment and control connected devices with the help of Alexa and Amazon wants to bring the experience wherever the customers want.

 

 

Alexa for Hospitality offers the guests the feeling of staying at a hotel like one is at home, enabling the hospitality providers to create memorable stays for their guests.

 

 

The Marriott International is introducing the new Alexa experience at select properties in Marriott Hotels, Westin Hotels & Resorts, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Aloft Hotels, and Autograph Collection Hotels will be introduced this summer.

 

 

 

 

Jennifer Hsieh, vice president customer experience innovation, Marriott International was thrilled to provide the Alexa for Hospitality, maintaining Marriott’s long track record of bringing innovation for the guests. As many of the guests are already availing the voice technology in their home the hotel chain wanted to extend that convenience while they travel.

 

 

As per the guests’ need the hospitality providers will be able to customise a range of voice-first features, with Amazon Echo in their room guests can easily get updates for information like pool hours, fitness centre location or request hotel services, call concierge etc.

 

 

In-room devices like lights, thermostats, blinds and TVs in the hotels can be configured by Alexa. Through the popular services like iHeartRadio and TuneIn individual preferences can also be served.

 

 

Alexa for Hospitality automatically disconnects their Amazon account from their in-room device once the guest checks out.

 

Vacation rental  companies like RedAwning , Thomson Hotels, Alila and others will be managing their properties via Alexa for Hospitality.
