Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department’s Anantapur Regional Office will be inaugurating package tour tickets for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. This was said by G. Nageswara Reddy, the District Tourism Officer (DTO).
The DTO said that more details would be revealed after the official launching of the tour package.

The package is expected to cost Rs. 1,200 per person, covering a Rs. 300 darshan ticket, lodging for a day, conveyance from Tirupati to Tirumala and food along with dropping back at Tirupati. The tickets need to be booked 7 days beforehand at Anantapur, Kurnool or Kadapa offices.

The DTO said that the state tourism department is also discussing with the APSRTC for improving other tourism routes in Kurnool, Anantapur and Kadapa districts to encompass local tourist and holy places comprising Lord Hanuman temples at Kasapuram, Namakkal and Murudi, along with temples in Tadipatri, Lepakshi and Hemavathi, and the forts of Gooty and Penukonda.

The state tourism department, along with the Archaeological Survey of India and State Archaeology Department, will attempt to obtain permanent UNESCO acknowledgment for the Lepakshi Veerabhadra temple in the next two years.
A ropeway has been approved for Penukonda hill top, and efforts are underway for another for Gooty fort, said the DTO.

About 60% of department land, which was getting trespassed, has been protected by cataloguing with the Revenue Department, and the remaining 40% would also be protected at the earliest, said the DTO.
