The tourism sector around the world, after coping with the pandemic, is now aspiring to breathe again and bounce back to pre-pandemic levels. These sectors are also exploring new prospects for a proper expansion.
The Tourism Department of Andaman and Nicobar Administration is now exploring and developing new attractions for luring tourists. The department is considering unexplored areas on the scenic island and is directing resources toward them.

Tourism is one of the top sectors when it comes to employment and revenue generation in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. To kick start this transformation, Jitendra Narain, the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration traveled across the South Andaman for finding out new tourist spots on the island.

Among the new spots identified is the Sunset Point in the Manjeri area of South Andaman. The location presents splendid view of the sunset, offering various other facilities for attracting people. The management has organized things like sit-outs and echo huts and beautified the place with flowers and paver blocks.

Other vantage points stretching from the Marine Park to Corbyn’s Cove will also experience changes for making them more hospitable to tourists. Besides facilities, various activities will also feature in these newly discovered tourist spots. The administration is hopeful that these upcoming places will improve rural tourism and provide income opportunities for local residents.
