Andhra Pradesh CM introduces campaign to boost tourism

On Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, inaugurated the World Tourism Day celebrations followed by a campaign. It’s anticipated that this campaign will boost tourist traffic to the state in the coming years.


Reddy launched the ‘Visit Andhra Pradesh 2023’ campaign to encourage tourism in the state. He also released the brochures to highlight the special occasion.


Tourism and Culture Department Special chief secretary Rajath Bhargav, said that the Tourism and Hospitality Sector is an important industry as it supplies a lot for the employment. In the past two years, the sector has gone through unstable times and is reviving back to historic levels. He added that it’s our responsibility to help the sector as much as possible. Therefore, the aim is on announcing the year as Visit Andhra Pradesh – 2023. The chief minister also disclosed the GIS web portal that would help the visitors to the tourist destinations.


In promoting tourism, travel and hospitality, the Tourism Department should play a major role, said the chief minister.


Also, the chief minister had a talk with the tribal Dhimsa dancers who had come from Araku.
The state has many tourism destinations comprising a huge shoreline, Araku and its hills, historical monuments like Buddhist sites, forts and Tirumala, which it hopes to display in the coming days.
He said that they have been very active in holistic improvement of their tourist destinations so far.
