Tourism minister of Andhra Pradesh, Bhuma Akhila Priya, said on Thursday that in order to develop the state tourism sector, a new tourism policy would be announced within a month after it has been considered by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing a press conference here, she said that the Tourism department had handed over the Detailed Project Report to the Central Tourism department in respect of taking up projects worth Rs1,000 crore.
In the new state tourism policy, safety and protection for the tourists were given top priority, the Minister said.
She informed that the state had sought the Union minister for Tourism Rs 100 crore to develop the Rayalaseema region as tourism hub.
The state is organising mega programmes as part of developing the tourism.
