Repressed demand related to travel has caused a major rise in tourist numbers to Thailand and Vietnam to almost record levels. It’s showing a major rise in bookings related to ground transport. This data is as per the recent travel trends report of Bookaway Group.

From November to February, the high season of tourists in Thailand traditionally starts while from October to March, the high tourism season starts in Vietnam and between October and December, this high rise in tourist numbers reaches its pinnacle in terms of international inbound rush.

However, the data trends of Bookway Group shows a positive response in making approval processes for the Thai Pass seamless and raising all travel impediments caused by Covid-19 in Vietnam with increased booking of ground transportation for bus as well as ferry rides.

The majority of travellers are arriving from the UK, keeping a hold of its top position from 2019. Travellers from France and Germany, in Thailand comprise second and third position, with French travellers to Vietnam followed by Korea.

In 2022, the number of tickets sold for Thailand has increased on an every month basis; volumes were 61 per cent up in March 2022, it increased 23 per cent on February and April. This rising trend comes in spite of the effect of the Omicron variant, when volumes went bit unnatural in January and February.

For inbound travellers, simplified travel rules and regulations have also assisted in driving volumes beyond peak season.
