The national narrative of surging AI adoption for global adventures finds its singular exception in the distinct travel habits exhibited by the residents of the prairie province of Saskatchewan. While the national average demonstrates a clear inclination towards international planning facilitated by Artificial Intelligence, the travel preferences of Saskatchewan residents are characterized by a profound focus on domestic travel and grounded, budget-conscious decision-making.

New research confirms that Saskatchewan travellers prioritize local and practical journeys. They have been identified as being among Canada’s most budget-conscious and realistic travelers, a characteristic that may naturally diminish the perceived need for high-tech tools designed primarily to coordinate complex international trips. It has been revealed that a considerable majority—more than three-quarters, or 77 per cent—of these residents have plans to remain within the borders of Canada over the subsequent year. Of this large segment, 70 per cent are intending to visit another Canadian province, reflecting a commitment to inter-provincial exploration. Furthermore, a highly localized form of exploration is being pursued, with 32 per cent of residents focusing their efforts on discovering destinations exclusively within Saskatchewan itself.

While 95 per cent of Canadians who are currently avoiding the United States still plan to explore other destinations—including overseas locations (35 per cent) and Mexico and the Caribbean (38 per cent)—the commitment to travel remains robust. The national data thus showcases a desire for global engagement, one where technology acts as the primary navigational aid.
