The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is announcing that it will host a virtual gathering for its Premium members – the ASTA Premium Business Summit, a live, engaging virtual event running from November 9-11, 2020. This annual event is complimentary for all ASTA Premium members and, given the new virtual format, the programming has been expanded to any employees (W-2) from any ASTA Premium member company. Registration for ASTA Premium Member companies and staff are free, but registration is required.

During the Summit, ASTA will address key topics and pressing concerns with influential speakers focused on today’s realities and tomorrow’s predictions. With the seemingly-constant headlines surrounding the pandemic, attendees will focus on how to lead and strategize in a time of disruption.

As a bonus program enhancement, ASTA is partnering with The Company Dime for an exclusive learning experience. On November 9th, “The ASTA Corporate Travel Conclave Powered by The Company Dime” will be included in the registration and attendees will receive admission to both events! Registration is free for corporate travel managers & buyers as well. Held in conjunction with the Premium Business Summit, the Corporate Travel Conclave will specifically focus on the issues facing corporate travel management. Veteran industry journalists and founders of The Company Dime, Jay Campbell, and David Jonas, will lead conversations with diverse perspectives in an unscripted and informal interview format discussing the latest issues in corporate travel management.

“While we’d, of course, prefer to be meeting in person, we’re excited to explore virtual education and networking with ASTA,” said Jay Campbell, journalist and co-founder of The Company Dime. “We enjoyed our prior collaboration and look forward to digging into the key issues facing corporate travel managers and their travel management company partners as the industry contemplates recovery.”

Attendees will hear exclusively from senior corporate travel leaders about this most turbulent year in corporate business travel and how travel management companies’ value proposition could change.

“All ASTA Premium members and their employees, as well as corporate travel managers and buyers, are highly encouraged to join this one-of-a-kind virtual event,” said Mark Meader, SVP of Industry Affairs & Education. “We specifically curated the content to be relevant for our future leaders in both corporate and leisure travel.”

In a recent attendee survey, ninety-six percent would recommend the Premium Business Summit to their colleagues and sixty-four percent rated the content at the Premium Business Summit as one of the top reasons to attend.

Highlights on the agenda this year include:

Resetting Your Mindset: Bill Taylor, Co-Founder of Fast Company magazine, will help refocus your mindset. Now is the time to be competitive by being the only one who does what you do.

Direct vs. indirect distribution through frank conversation with Mike Premo, ARC’s President & CEO, and Arnie Weissmann, Editor in Chief at Travel Weekly.

What’s on the horizon for business impact recovery? Scott Wayne, Managing Partner at Envoy, will lead a candid discussion on how agencies can be better prepared going forward.

“Who owns the client?” will be the theme for a round of courtroom drama in the popular ASTA Travel Court, where you will have a say in our mock trial.
