At the Chancery in Kacyiru, the Uganda High Commission – Kigali and UTB arranged a Uganda Night. It disclosed the new ‘Pearl of Africa Destination’ brand to more than half a million probable visitors in the city of Rwanda, a land of thousand hills. For Uganda, Rwanda is the second leading source market after Kenya, attracting more than 22,660 tourists in 2020 after a major drop in arrivals in 2019. Common transboundaries are shared by both the countries in terms of ethnicity, culture, history, and natural resources. As a result, these resources which are shared by both need joint marketing effort along with development of tourism products via collaborative transboundary interventions.
The participation of Uganda in CHOGM 2022 is an outstanding chance for the tourism opportunities of Uganda under the “Explore Uganda” destination brand and to communicate to the team of CHOGM 2022 about the transboundary tourism products between Uganda and Rwanda.
