Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir, one of the major governing bodies for operating the tourism movement in the north Indian state, Jammu and Kashmir has welcomed the inclusion of Tassaduq Mufti into the council of ministers with tourism portfolio.
In a special meeting chaired by the ATOAK president Rauf Tramboo, the members pinned their hopes on new tourism minister for better tourism prospects across the state especially, Kashmir valley, which is known as most favoured destination.
President ATOAK said that the induction of Tassaduq Mufti in the council of ministers with very important tourism portfolio is a shot in the arm of tourism industry, it will boost the morale and confidence of the tourism players which is on the low as the tourism industry in Kashmir Valley is witnessing sharp decline in tourist arrivals since last 2 years due to the negative publicity by some media houses in some parts of India.
Terming Tassaduq ‘young and dynamic”, ATOAK is hopeful that he would use all his good offices and also his vibrant ideas to promote Kashmir tourism in domestic as well as in international markets as he has lived and worked outside J&K for a good period of time, the handout read.
General Secretary ATOAK, Mohammad Yusuf while welcoming Tassaduq Mufti to tourism family said that the members of adventure tourism fraternity are highly grateful to the government for providing an independent tourism minister and hoped Tassaduq Mufti would make all efforts and leave no stone unturned for the promotion of leisure as well as adventure tourism of Jammu and Kashmir.
