In a letter recently out in StarMetro on May 27th, Thomas Zachariah George made some comments to a response. However, we thank him for the positive suggestions whatsoever. Here we’re interested to emphasize some of the initiatives we have undertaken like the revamped Tourism Selangor’s Discover Selangor campaign which formed a strong platform for the state attractions in terms of global as well as local tourism.
The promotional campaign which is run at present has the catchy tagline “Heart of Malaysia”. It focuses to develop the current promotional campaign, particularly highlighting Selangor as a hub for transportation, development, investment, business, education as well as medicine.
Some of the best events to watch this year are the Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival 2017 in August, the ongoing weekend Royal Klang Heritage Walk programme, the Malaysia Women Marathon 2017 which was hosted in March as well as the Visit Klang Year and Hulu Selangor Year celebrations.
However, Tourism Selangor has created an all-inclusive plan to further fortify the tourism industry of the state this year. We also have a good rapport with the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents Selangor Chapter. It has a boastful membership of over 3,100, comprising local tour and travel organizations as well as abundant overseas affiliations.
