The countdown for 2019 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival has begun. The Festival runs from 13 April to 5 May, 2019 and will boost domestic tourism.
More than 200 events will be on offer over four weeks, including fashion markets, design and photography exhibitions, bush tucker talks, guided walks, vintage balls and rare access to some of Canberra’s most historic and interesting buildings.
This year’s theme SPACE captures more than just outer space.
MLA Mick Gentleman said, “The Festival is also a time to acknowledge and celebrate our Aboriginal heritage. Our Traditional Custodians are sharing their knowledge about Country, sites of significance, bush foods and more.
The Festival’s promotional artworks were commissioned by artist Trevor Dickinson, who was invited to apply the space theme to Canberra icons. You’ll see a bus stop on the moon, the Shine Dome on Mars and Testra Tower blasting off into space.”
