Ayana Hotels brings Phinisi cruise ship in Bali, Indonesia

The largest specially built Phinsi cruise ship has been launched by the Ayana Hotels named Ayanka  Lako di’a in July.

The name means Safe Journey in Balinese language and the craft draws inspiration from ancient techniques that passed down from generation to generation.

The Konjo people in Sulawesi started the art of Phinisi ship-building which is an age-old craft.

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on December 2017 declared South Sulawesi’ incredible Phinsi boat-building art as a part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.
