Azerbaijan showcases new products of tourism in ITB Berlin

At the 9th meeting of the Ministers of Great Silk Road countries, Azerbaijan Tourism Board showcased a new tourism product – “The Seven Beauties of the Silk Road” within the framework of the ITB Berlin exhibition organized in Germany.

 

The concept included seven different routes that go with tourists all through the ancient Silk Road route in Azerbaijan, AZERTAC reports citing Azerbaijan Tourism Board. The concept features Baku – “Oil route”, Shamakhi – “Poetry route”, Aghsu – “Pomegranate route”, Ismayilli – “Craft route”, Ganja – “Market route”, Nakhchivan – “Salt route”. The presentation emphasized the urgency to apply a new approach to traditional routes in tandem with the travel requirements of the 21st century tourist.

 

The wine route next to the Silk Road has been presented at the eighth meeting of tour operators of the Silk Road countries. The presentation showcased Azerbaijan’s wine and wine-growing traditions on the website azerbaijanwine.az and tried to attract the attention of the participants’ six main stops of route (Baku, Novkhani, Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Gabala, Goygol). Afterward, unified tour packages were presented in the aforesaid areas, including gastronomy and ethnography of Azerbaijan.

 

Also, Azerbaijan Tourism Board represented at the exhibition Berlin Travel Festival, was arranged as part of ITB Berlin. The festival, endorsing new tourist destinations, also presented new ways of traveling.

 

The event taking place on March 6-10, the products of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, samples of handicrafts and winemaking, dried fruits and other products of national tourism like videos shown on electronic information boards were in the center of attention of numerous visitors.

 

ITB Berlin is an international tourism exhibition, which takes place every year in Berlin since 1966. ITB Berlin is a major travel fair. The exhibition attracts world’s largest travel companies which consider the exhibition as the leading platform for establishing commercial links for the global travel business.
