The babymoon boom on rise in Scotland

Babymoon is sweeping Scotland for expectant first-time parents. Babymoon is a combination of baby shower and a honeymoon. Cottages & Castles  has noted a marked increase in this market segment with an increase in the number of people booking small cosy cottages and romantic getaways. It is Scotland’s longest established self-catering agency.

 

 

 

The agency’s social media research also highlights this growing trend with online searches and direct babymoon enquiries on the up and the #babymoon attracting over 736,000 results on Instagram alone. Cottages & Castles’ The Old Larder is nestled in the wonderful Glen Estate, Peeblesshire.

 

 

 

Jemima Kirkwood, social media manager of Cottages & Castles, said that they have noticed an emerging trend for couples keen to enjoy some quiet time before their little bump. They have really special places to offer a relaxing short break in some of Scotland’s most beautiful and peaceful settings, allowing some much-needed rest and relaxation before the sleepless nights take hold.

 

 

 

 

Scotland remains a top choice for people choosing to holiday at home. Customers booking properties through Cottages & Castles during 2018 were primarily from within Scotland at 55 per cent, with 40 per cent of staycationers coming from the rest of the UK and overseas visitors accounting for 5 per cent of bookings.
