Bali is preparing to reopen for international tourists after a long hiatus. Referring to this, the Indonesian Tourism Minister stated that Bali will be reopening in October for international tourism. Even though Bali delayed multiple plans to reopen earlier, the Central Government said that Bali is now ready to welcome international tourists.
Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Sandiaga Uno announced that the central government is set to reopen the international travel corridor in October. The meeting was attended by several government officials who weighed the preparations about reopening the border for international visitors.
Earlier, Maritime and Investment Coordinator Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the country succeededin emerging from second COVID wave, and if the cases drop consequently, they will consider reopening the borders from October.
The plan to start reopening borders has been carried out after getting reports from Bali Vice Governor Cok Ace, regarding recent COVID-19 transmissions in Bali, which have dropped considerably. There are reports that fully vaccinated tourists will be allowed to enter the destination, and will have to further undergo testing to gain entry.
