Bali reopens immigration services after Nyepi and Eid holidays, processing over 12,000 visa requests in one day as international tourism demand accelerates.
Indonesia’s Bali has fully resumed its immigration services following a week-long shutdown during Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr celebrations. Known for its serene beaches and spiritual heritage, Bali has once again captured global attention after being crowned Asia’s most beautiful island by DestinAsian magazine in this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
All immigration offices across Bali are now operating at full capacity, with staff and facilities functioning smoothly after the extended closure from March 27 to April 7. Emergency services continued during the break, catering to foreign nationals requiring urgent travel for health or family-related emergencies.
On the first day of reopening, April 9, immigration authorities processed an impressive 12,770 visa and residence permit applications. Between March 28 and April 7 alone, Indonesia’s digital immigration system received 217,695 submissions, highlighting the island’s continued appeal to global travelers.
