Just a short while after take-off around 8.20 a.m., Delta flight 2836 had struck a bird and lost an engine, as confirmed by the officials of the airlines.
The Port Authority Police Association had tweeted mentioning that approximately 8.20 a.m., at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Delta flight 2836 that was an Airbus 319 had suffered a bird striker during its take off.
Thereafter the aircraft returned to JFK, met and was inspected by the Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) Unit, as was mentioned by the official of Delta Airlines.
The bird strike had taken place when the Delta flight was about 500 feet into the air.
No injuries have been reported as a consequence of the bird strike. The plane was then inspected by the PAPD Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Unit.
