Police cars and ambulances were outside the Toposs Congress Hotel.
Sniffer dogs were noticed entering this building as per a leading news media platform.
At least one fire truck was outside the hotel and police were seen questioning staff and guests on the street. The Toposs-Congress Hotel had been designated as an official FIFA World Cup hotel but then no football teams were expected to stay in this part of the world during the tournament.
The stadium in Rostov had been hosting the match on June 26, between Iceland versus Croatia where Croatia won 2 – 1 with the Icelanders knocked out.
None of the teams participating in this tournament was reported to be residing in the hotel in question.
Later the police confirmed that the incident was a drill.
