Now, international and domestic tourists, who are vaccinated fully against COVID-19, are permitted to visit Boracay Island without any negative swab test result. Aklan Gov. Florencio Miraflores, in a recent executive order that took effect on Feb. 1st, has raised the requirement for the negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result that was re-imposed on Jan. 9 sfter seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases.

This revised policy was issued after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the proposal of the Department of Tourism to permit fully vaccinated tourists from visa-free countries to visit the Philippines. Only, the fully vaccinated tourists will have to produce their vaccination card or certificate and proof of identification, comprising passports for foreign tourists. Also, they are required to submit proof of hotel booking confirmation and flight or other details related to travel.

Still, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated tourists will have to submit a negative RT-PCR test result taken within 72 hours of their travel date.

Also, now the order has eased restrictions in Boracay with the operating hours of business establishments from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. The curfew on the island has been left to the discretion of the municipal government of Malay, where the 1,032-hectare island is located.
