Bowlus has revealed the 2026 Endless Highways Frontier Edition, a limited-run luxury travel trailer introduced under its Endless Highways lineup. The new model is described as a self-sustaining recreational unit developed to support long-distance journeys, off-grid operation, and prolonged travel across diverse environments. As part of Bowlus’ performance-oriented range, the Frontier Edition integrates high-capacity power systems, enhanced off-road readiness, and onboard amenities aimed at enabling travelers to remain mobile with minimal dependence on conventional facilities.
The 2026 Frontier Edition is manufactured in California and continues the company’s longstanding use of riveted aluminum construction. The model reflects Bowlus’ historical connection to early aerodynamic travel trailers while integrating modern electric systems aimed at supporting remote travel. Production is limited, and ordering is available directly through the company’s California-based sales channel.

The Endless Highways Frontier Edition draws from Bowlus’ early design origins, which date back to handcrafted aluminum trailers developed for aviation-related travel use in the early 20th century. The Frontier Edition maintains this aerodynamic design philosophy, emphasizing reduced drag and improved efficiency for long-distance towing. The exterior construction remains based on riveted aluminum panels, a defining characteristic of Bowlus travel trailers since the 1930s.
Inside, the Frontier Edition incorporates natural wood finishes and handcrafted elements that align with extended travel comfort rather than short-term recreational use. Interior layouts are configured to function as a self-contained living space, allowing travelers to remain mobile across regions without frequent stops at serviced campgrounds. Skylights, integrated filtration systems, and climate-related features are included to support multi-day or indefinite travel.
The Frontier Edition is delivered with a full suite of performance and utility packages as standard equipment. An Adventure Package includes a three-inch suspension lift, all-terrain tires, a mounted spare tire, and an interior lashing system designed to secure items during off-pavement travel. These features are intended to support travel across unpaved or remote routes.
Energy independence is addressed through the Off-Grid Power Package II, which combines 400 watts of AeroSolar® power generation with a 19 kWh battery system, the largest battery capacity offered by Bowlus to date. This configuration is designed to support extended off-grid travel without time limitations, enabling travelers to remain in remote locations without external power connections.

Additional standard equipment includes the Luxe Package, which integrates continuous hot water, heated floors, a two-stage water filtration system, a HEPA air filter, dual skylights with integrated blinds, and ceramic-coated exterior finishes. A Maneuvering Package adds a Bowlus-branded bumper and backup camera to assist with towing and positioning during travel.
For travelers prioritizing flexibility and independence, the Frontier Edition is positioned as a platform for movement rather than destination-based travel. The trailer’s design supports a touring lifestyle where routes, timing, and stops remain adaptable. By combining power autonomy with climate and water systems, the Frontier Edition is structured to reduce logistical constraints commonly associated with long-distance travel.
This approach aligns with broader travel preferences that emphasize open-ended journeys and extended exploration. The Frontier Edition’s configuration allows travelers to remain self-sufficient while transitioning between environments, without requiring frequent returns to serviced locations. The emphasis remains on sustained mobility and uninterrupted travel experiences.
Extended travel often requires living spaces that balance durability with comfort. The Frontier Edition addresses this through handcrafted interior components, including two-tone wood finishes, specialty tables, custom headboards, drawer hardware, and an integrated safe. A custom screen door with an integrated front shade is also included, requiring significant manual build time as part of the trailer’s production process.
An outdoor shower is integrated into the design, supporting practical use during extended travel stays. These interior and exterior features collectively frame the Frontier Edition as a mobile living environment rather than a short-term recreational unit. The model is offered in two color options, identified as Dusk and Dawn.
In addition to standard equipment, the Frontier Edition can be configured with optional systems intended to support personalized travel preferences. Available upgrades include AeroMove®, a smart television system, integrated Starlink connectivity, and the Epicurean Package. The Epicurean Package adds a combination convection oven, convection microwave, air fryer, drawer-style refrigerator, spice storage, and expanded galley capacity.
These optional systems allow travelers to adapt the trailer for longer stays or increased onboard functionality while maintaining the core design and performance framework of the Frontier Edition.
Bowlus traces its origins to early trailer development in the 1930s, when Hawley Bowlus began producing aerodynamic trailers to support sailplane operations. By 1934, the company introduced the first riveted-aluminum travel trailer, a design that later influenced the broader RV industry. Bowlus trailers became associated with luxury travel and were adopted by prominent individuals during the early expansion of recreational touring.
Today, Bowlus operates as an ultra-luxury electric RV manufacturer, continuing to produce riveted aluminum travel trailers at its facility in Oxnard, California. The Endless Highways Frontier Edition represents the latest extension of this legacy within a modern travel context.
