The inaugural Seminar on Institutional Articulation of Tourism Fluminense was held in Rio de Janerio, Brazil yesterday. The head of the Ministry of Tourism, Hercy Ayres Rodrigues Filho, participated in the event.
At the event, sponsored by the State of Rio de Janeiro’s Court of Accounts (TCE-RJ) and the State Department of Tourism, he presented programs and portfolio projects focused on the development and integration of tourism in partnership with states and municipalities.
Ayres highlighted the legislative actions of the current management of the Tourism Ministry to foster domestic tourism and expand the flow of foreigners to Brazil. Among them, the total opening of the Brazilian air market for foreign companies and the release of visas for tourists from strategic countries like the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan, which becomes effective from June 17.
“We have programs and projects, in partnership with states and municipalities, that promote tourism in a decentralized way and strengthen destinations, where tourism happens in practice,” said Hercy. He pointed out that the Tourism Regionalization Program (PRT) has been the integrated way of structuring tourism activity and promoting regional development through the travel industry.
The seminar discussed the “Socioeconomic Studies of the Municipalities of the State of Rio de Janeiro 2018”. The focus of the research was the diagnosis of Fluminense tourism based on the National Tourism Plan, an instrument that establishes the guidelines and strategies for the implementation of the national policy of the sector.
