Published on : Wednesday, May 23, 2018

BrazilBrazil’s Tourism Ministry  has signed an agreement with the Brazilian LGBT Trade and Commerce Chamber to promote the country as a gay-friendly tourism destination earlier this week.

This agreement is aimed at increasing the awareness about Brazil as a gay-friendly destination along with taking good care of the lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders (LGBT)

Tourism Minister Vinicius Lummertz stated that Brazil is still a very conservative nation and we resort to tourism  in helping  bridge gaps and improve communication.

Brazil still struggles to become a power in the tourism industry inspite of having natural resources and other tourist destination which has a potential to attract millions of people.

The country received a record high of 6.5 million foreign tourists last year as per the Tourism Ministry.

However,  it is much less world renowned cities from like Paris, which received 12 million foreign tourists last year, and Barcelona, another major tourist destination in Europe, which received 8.3 million foreign visitors last year.
