Britain is expecting an increase in visitors from China with Chinese people celebrating National Day with a Golden Week holiday.
VisitBritain said that more people are now opting for Britain, with Golden Week a prime time for their journeys.
As per data, flight arrivals from China to Britain for September to November are 23 percent up compared to the same period last year.
VisitBritain said that there were a record number of visits from China to Britain in the first quarter of this year. There were 69,000 visits from China to Britain in January to March this year, with visitors spending reaching a record 123 million pounds.
To quote VisitBritain Director Patricia Yates,”China is the world’s most valuable outbound market and a huge tourism opportunity for the UK. We want to be top of the list as a must-go-now destination for Chinese travelers and to give them a world-class visitor experience.”
Shopping is the most popular activity in Britain for Chinese visitors, followed by dining in restaurants, visiting parks or gardens, and museums or galleries.
