Flight BA0303 had been held on the tarmac at Charles de Gaulle and surrounded by police. The fire vehicles had arrived around 8 a.m. in the UK yesterday morning. Airbus A320 was scheduled to depart from this airport around 7.25 a.m. local time on Sunday.
However, a short while prior to its take off the passengers were informed that a direct threat was made against the airport.
Ever since then the French police declared that the evacuation of the plane had been triggered by a ‘false alarm’. British Airways said that the safety of their customers is always their topmost priority and therefore additional checks are being conducted as a precautionary procedure.
A British Airways spokeswoman confirmed around 11.10 a.m. that the flight had taken off.
But, the airline has not yet stated the nature of the alleged security threat.
James Anderson who is a British traveller said that the police searched all the passengers on board the flight. Later, he tweeted that the aircraft was declared to be completely safe and they would be continuing their journey to London Heathrow.
This security alert comes amidst high tensions in the United Kingdom in the wake of a failed bomb plot on a District Line train at Parsons Green on Friday.
