Brussels Airport cancels flights for tomorrow on 9 November, 2022. As a result of expected airline disruptions due to the general strike against the cost of living crisis on 9 November, Brussels Airport has cancelled about 40% of all flights set to depart that day.

With all of Belgium’s unions calling on workers to take to the streets on Wednesday 9 November to protest the diminishing purchasing power of Belgians, Brussels Airport has decided to take preemptive action.

On Thursday, Brussels airport announced that they were cancelling 40% of all flights on that date to long queues and delays during the day. Furthermore, discussions are underway with partners and airlines to see if additional measures are needed to avoid chaos.

As a result, all of the concerned passengers will be contacted personally by their airline and those whose flights are maintained have been asked to only take hand luggage with them. Brussels airport also advised those travelling to and from the airport to expect possible disruptions on public transport.
