A jetliner of Southwest Airlines that had left Sacramento was compelled to go for an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport late on Sunday after a burning smell was suddenly reported according to Melissa Ford who is a spokesperson of the airline.
Southwest flight 4046 was carrying 103 passengers on board.
The aircraft had left Sacramento and had to opt for an emergency landing, said the spokesperson. After this, the plane had to be diverted to LAX.
Thereafter the airplane landed absolutely safely and was capable of taxing to the gate under its own power, the spokesperson added.
The mechanics from Southwest were investigating the source of the burning odor, she went on to state.
Later Southwest arranged for an alternate jet to transport the passengers to the Orange County Airport as per Ford. They were expected to arrive about an hour behind schedule.
