Cairo introduces innovative tourism campaign with CNN

The Ministry of Tourism is all set to go for an extended partnership with CNN in a global tourism campaign that highlights a modern Egypt, all over an innovative mix of TV, digital and social media platforms.


The new joint venture between CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) and Ministry of Tourism of Egypt considers both parties working close together for this wide-reaching campaign, kick-started this month, to captivate and enthuse the key audiences of Egypt around the world.


The purpose of this partnership is to carry on and accelerate the country’s tourism growth. By highlighting the beauty of the country via diverse destinations and the warmth and hospitality of its people amongst CNN’s global audience, this campaign is planned to give shape to the Minister of Tourism, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat’s vision of developing a sustainable tourism sector and assisting Egypt grow visitor numbers as highlighted in the Egypt—Tourism Reform Program (E—TRP).



This affiliation is time bound with 2019 being a crucial year for the country as it organizes major events like the Africa Cup of Nations and arranges for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in 2020.


The main audiences ranging from families to independent adventurers and business travelers from all the prime markets like Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East are the focus for the CNN campaign. In travel, it will tap into the high interest amongst CNN audiences, 66% of who are personally interested in travel, with 50% traveling internationally each year.
