Cambodia promotes “Beautiful China” campaign

indexOn this Wednesday evening, CNTA or the China National Tourism Administration endorsed the “Beautiful China” campaign with a target at lure more Cambodian tourists than China, as confirmed by the officials.

2017 has been designated the year of tourism cooperation between China and the 10-country Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as told by Zhang Xilong, the Head of the Chinese tourism delegation. China anticipates greeting more tourists from ASEAN including Cambodia.

“The event aims at showing the richness of China’s tourism resources and products to Cambodian people,” he said while attending the ceremony, where more than 150 Cambodian tour operators and officials were present as well. He explained that China is well-known in terms of cultural properties and natural heritage along with nice hospitality and accommodation facilities with mouthwatering food.

In the interim, Zhang was quite sure that the tourism relations between China and Cambodia would take a deeper turn in the coming days under the Belt and Road Initiative put forward by China.

Charge d’ affairs of the Chinese embassy to Cambodia Tan Qingsheng expressed that tourism is kind of a bridge that increases the person-to-person bond and cultural exchange. He also said that China is prepared to cooperate with ASEAN and Cambodia in order to advance its tourism ties.

The “Beautiful China” campaign took place in Phnom Penh after it was effectively launched in Bangkok, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

“I believe that the event today will enable all of you to better understand China and to explore further opportunities for cooperation and investment in tourism between the two countries,” he said.
