In Quebec, maintaining the tourism industry will eventually boost up the economic development of the region. This is why today, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice, Champlain, along with the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, in place of the Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport and Minister, in charge CED, declared a $500,000 repayable donation to be awarded to Camping Mauricie for upgrading facilities. The donation will allow the campsite to improve its infrastructure and contribute to the revival of the tourism sector of the region, which has been impacted by the pandemic in the worst ways.

With this economic help from CED, provided via Tourism Relief Fund, Camping Mauricie will be capable of setting up of ready-to-camp accommodations, along with a visitor centre, parking space, and a jetty with stairs that will take one down to the river. The project is the plan of Camping Mauricie to grow its services after getting hold of adjoining land and offer its clients with improved tourism experience.

To the Canadian economy, the tourism sector is a key contributor and has been hit in the hardest way by the health crisis. From the beginning of COVID-19, Canada’s Government has put different steps in place to help businesses which got impacted by the effects of COVID-19. The Tourism Relief Fund was made specially to assist tourism related organizations and businesses, offering innovative products and services to the tourists and welcome international travellers once again.
