As South Africa is all set to welcome its peak tourism season, the official Destination Marketing Organization of the City of Cape Town, Cape Town Tourism, has started telling the travellers repeatedly to exercise a continued level of watchfulness, as they would while exploring any other world’s major city.

Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism (CTT) said that they are anticipating a bumper festive season, particularly with Cape Town being a place that is often given as examples as world’s best holiday destinations. Together with a high return visitor rate, Enver said that it’s very important that they continue to prioritize safety and show that the city truly cares for its visitors. Headed by CTT, different tourism industry committees, comprising the Cape Town Central City Improvement District, South African Police Service, SANPARKS and Consular Generals came together to recognize safety trends and talk about the solutions to make sure about locals and visitors safety.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos, says that the City remains completely dedicated to make sure Cape Town as a destination remains safe and all prepared to welcome travellers. With tourism industry bodies like SAPS and the CCID on the ground, Alderman said that they make year-round programs easy, focusing on the prevention of tourist and visitor safety incidents through community, stakeholder and enforcement engagements, and put into practice of technology usage to ensure a safer Cape Town.
