Carbon neutral UK Aviation industry by 2050

 In the next 30 years the UK aviation industry has pledged to cut carbon emission to zero. Even though the projected growth in passenger number is 70 per cent over the next 30 years.

From the new aircraft and engine technology the reduction in emissions will come. There will be use of sustainable aviation fuels and aviation policy as per the industry group Sustainable Aviation.

While buying up more fuel-efficient aircraft, British Airways has promised to offset its domestic flights from this year and will also invest $400 m in biofuels.

easyJet is working with Wright Electric to design an electric plane for short-haul journeys under 500 km.

Neil Robinson, the chair of Sustainable Aviation said that the climate change is a clear and pressing issue for people, businesses and government across the world.

If decisive action is not taken the aviation emissions will increase and UK aviation is committed to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 through an international approach.

They are working with governments around the world and through the UN.

In the green technologies of the future the UK is well positioned to become one of the leaders and will include sustainable aviation fuels and electric flight that will create highly-skilled and well-paid jobs in the process.

Grant Shapps, the Transport secretary said that the fight against climate change is one of the greatest challenges that the modern world is facing and the aviation sector is committed in creating a greener future.

In reducing the carbon emissions the aviation sector has a major role and with the continued international co-operation through the UN agency, the International Civil Aviation Organisation could strike the balance and create a greener future.
