Cruises from Norfolk, Va are back on the schedule at Carnival.
This Miami-based cruise line on Wednesday mentioned that the 2,758-passenger Carnival Triumph would be making Norfolk its home in May 2019 and also later this year. The deployment would come after the 18-year-old cruise ship undergoes a very expensive makeover bringing about new beverage, food and entertainment options.
Carnival had dropped Norfolk from its schedule for 2018 after offering many sailings from the city many years ago.
These new Norfolk voyages on Triumph would be five-and-six-night trips to the Bahamas, two five-night cruises would be departing on 12th May and 17th May of 2019.
There would be feature calls at Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas.
In addition, six-night cruises would be departing on 6th May, 14th October 2019 and also feature stops at the private island of Half Moon Cay, Freeport and Nassau.
Besides sailing out of Norfolk, Triumph in 2019 would be operating voyages out of the New York City and Fort Lauderdale as announced by Carnival.
Carnival has an on-and-off presence in Norfolk for many years.
