The Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) has decided to increase its range of services for conventions in order to provide a more extensive and customized support to associations that organize events in Cologne. The landing page for associations has been specially designed to provide event organisers with important information to plan their convention in Cologne.
CCB has released a two-minute video to explain how in particular the CCB can help associations with the comprehensive planning of a convention. The first of these testimonials have been provided by the German Sport University Cologne, the Global South Studies Center, and the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC) both of the University of Cologne. Most sector events are backed by substantial economic power, from which Cologne can benefit as an attractive MICE destination. The CCB has made an immediate positive impact on Cologne’s image with the acquisition of prestigious conventions with high reputations.
Cologne currently offers a large number of location advantages for meetings. The city itself is home to many important commercial enterprises and scientific institutions. The clusters of expertise that have developed as a result serve as thematic anchors for the key events of the respective sectors. These include media, science, trade and industry as well as services and logistics.
Ever since its foundation, the Cologne Convention Bureau supports association members who wish to initiate a convention in Cologne. Through its excellent networks within the city and its expertise, it provides free of charge assistance to associations and institutes with regard to the application process and implementation of these events, and actively accompanies the laborious process with all of its many planning steps.
Dr. Jurgen Amann, CEO, Cologne Tourist Board said in a statement that the latest assistance with regard to convention planning is the first step in the intensification of acquisition work in the area of association meetings. He mentioned that in accordance with the expansion of customized services, the move represents further important steps in the strategic and conceptual development of the Convention Bureau. He said that Cologne is being strengthened as a MICE destination by optimization of the range of activities and establishing the CCB as a central point of contact, free of charge for customers.
