Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus has earned a Wine Spectator award for the wine program of the Hotel’s main restaurant AQUA.
Honoured with Best of Award of Excellence in Wine Spectator’s 2021 Restaurant Awards, AQUA serves fish and seafood dishes with an international wine list of local and international wines, against stunning views of the Bosphorus. “We are incredibly proud to announce that AQUA is a recipient of Wine Spectator’s coveted Best of Award of Excellence once again,’’ says Sommelier Nebiye Kaya.
AQUA serves a premium selection of seafood dishes accompanied by a menu of 400 different types of wines. Whether guests prefer white or red, AQUA offers multiple options to cater to each and every preference. Wines from Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, USA, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia are perfect complements for AQUA’s seafood cuisine.
There is more than one good reason to taste local wine when one is in Istanbul. Good wine has been produced in Turkey since Neolithic Hittite times, and still is. Turkey offers an array of different wines and styles, including intriguing domestic varieties. Several of Anatolia’s climatic regions, including the Marmara and Aegean, the East and the Southeast, some with volcanic soil (such as Cappadocia), are suitable for producing wine grapes. The vast selection of 126 wine labels at AQUA is a highlight for those wishing to sip on local wines. The menu also includes the exclusive signature wine, Chateau Kalpak Merlot 2012, offering a limited release wine experience.
With its impeccable service, tasty seafood dishes and scenic outdoor setting, AQUA provides a great venue to reconnect with loved ones, family gatherings or dining in style. The seafood experience at AQUA blends the dining and an elevated atmosphere together for dinner where the guests can indulge in a wine pairing dinner with a picturesque view of the Bosphorus.
