China sees 100 million domestic tourist trips during Qingming Festival

Quin MingChina saw 100 million domestic tourist trips during the three-day tomb-sweeping holiday, which is up by8.3 percent from last year’s holiday.

 

 

According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in China, there is a rapid rise of domestic tourists during tomb-sweeping festival for the better connectivity and the presence of domestic flights at cheaper rates.

 

 

The tourism revenue in China on domestic trips has reached around 42.1 billion yuan (about 6.7 billion U.S. dollars) during the holiday which lasts from Thursday to Saturday, up 8 percent.

 

 

While tourists still favour sites of natural scenes, an increasing number of people chose to visit martyrs’ cemeteries and memorial sites of revolution.

 

 

The Tomb-sweeping Day, or Qingming Festival, is an important occasion for Chinese people to honour their ancestors. There are many domestic tourists who are also spending the three-day holiday on leisure travelling.
