China earns huge revenue from travel and tourism industry during May Day holiday time. China welcomed 147 million domestic tourist trips during the three-day May Day holiday. It is 9.3 percent up compared with the previous year. This high tourism season generated 87.16 billion yuan (13.70 billion U.S. dollars) in tourism revenue, which is up 10.2 percent from last year.
The tourism industry in East China’s Anhui province earns 13.44 billion yuan ($2.13 billion) during the three-day May Day holiday.
This earning is 34.32 percent rise from a year earlier.
The tourist destinations across the Anhui province received a total of 29.19 million tourists from April 29 to May 1. It is representing a year-on-year increase of 18.04 percent.
Longchuan, another well-known scenic spot in Jixi county, posted a 17.33 percent year-on-year rise in the number of visitors during the holiday, followed by Jiuhua Mountain, one of China’s four Buddhist mountains, which saw a 9.38 percent increase.
On the contrast, Huizhou Cultural Tourist Area and Huangshan Mountain in the south of the province saw a year-on-year decrease of 8.57 percent and 9.33 percent, respectively.
The five scenic areas welcomed more than 100,000 tourists during the three-day break, including Balihe River, Jiuhua Mountain and Sanhe village. The tourism revenue in Wanfo Lake Scenic Area surged 46.14 percent, followed by Balihe River and Longchuan, both at 15 percent.
Wuhu Fantawild Theme Park has recorded 15.74 million yuan in tourism revenue, Jiuhua Mountain 15.68 million yuan and Huangshan Mountain 11.03 million yuan.
