As China dismissed more travel limitations after it improved its COVID-19 comeback, its reviving outbound and inbound travel is introducing novel stimulus into the worldwide tourism market.

China has started permitting travel agencies and online tourism facilities providers to present group expeditions to a second list of 40 destinations, comprising France, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Spain and Brazil, as per the Culture and Tourism department.

China’s outbound group travel segment was paused in initial days of 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the country has boosted its pandemic comeback, it has started a pilot program to restart outbound travel to the main group of 20 countries, comprising Thailand, Indonesia, the Maldives, Egypt, Kenya, Switzerland, Singapore and New Zealand, from February 6 this year.

In the meantime, to further enable cross-border tourism, China’s visa specialists overseas have restarted issuing all sorts of visas to foreigners as per the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Zhou Weihong, the deputy general manager of Spring Tour Travel Agency said that they have obtained the first directive to travel to Spain and Portugal on the morning of March 11.

It is the day after the circular on the second group of 40 destinations came out.

Medium to long-distance places like Serbia and Italy turned out to be preferred selections for Chinese tourists. Zhou said that many tourists intended to travel during the impending May Day break.
