China

All major tourism, cultural, and sports facilities in Sanya, a prominent tourist destination in Hainan Province, reopened on Sunday following the weakening of Super Typhoon Yagi’s impact. The city, known for its scenic beauty and tropical climate, has restored public access to its attractions after the typhoon passed through the region, allowing visitors to once again enjoy the area’s rich offerings.

In popular tourist areas, including well-known scenic spots, authorities have worked swiftly to remove debris such as broken branches and fallen leaves left by the storm. Local cleanup teams have ensured that these areas are ready to welcome visitors again. Additionally, five dedicated teams from Sanya’s tourism bureau have been deployed to conduct safety inspections and oversee the recovery efforts in the most affected parts of the city.

Super Typhoon Yagi, the 11th typhoon of the year, made landfall in Hainan on Friday, causing significant disruption across the island. The storm brought heavy rains and strong winds, leading to temporary closures of public venues and requiring extensive recovery efforts. However, swift action by local authorities has ensured the reopening of these venues, enabling the city’s tourism sector to bounce back quickly.

At the Dadonghai scenic area, one of Sanya’s most popular beach destinations, tourists were seen enjoying the sun and surf once again on September 8, 2024. Despite the recent storm, the beach and other nearby areas have been restored to their former glory, providing a safe and clean environment for both locals and visitors.

As the remnants of Super Typhoon Yagi continue to fade, Sanya’s tourism industry is resuming normal operations, with visitors returning to beaches, cultural sites, and sports facilities. The city’s prompt response to the storm’s aftermath demonstrates the resilience of both the local government and the tourism sector, which are committed to maintaining the area’s appeal as a top travel destination.

With all major attractions now open, Sanya is eager to welcome back tourists, offering them the chance to experience its scenic landscapes, vibrant culture, and leisure activities. The post-typhoon recovery efforts highlight the city’s preparedness in handling natural disasters and ensuring a swift return to normalcy for residents and visitors alike.
