Formally, tourism activities have been reopened inside the Chitwan National Park.

With the start of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, all activities related to tourism were closed. However, every year, during the rainy season, tourism activities inside the park remain closed. It once again reopens as soon as the rain subsides. In 2021, the activities had remained closed due to pandemic and now, they have reopened once again.

Inside and outside the park, all kinds of tourism activities have been opened, the Chief Conservation Officer Ananath Baral of the park has recently said.

He has also added that the jeep safari has started after the road inside the park has been revamped. Also, elephant safaris, jeeps ride and jungle walks are available at the community forest adjacent to the park.

Visitors can spend nights in the tower-houses as well. These are built inside the community forest. In the same way, boat rides take place on the Rapti River, which flows through the park.

According to the president of the Regional Hotel Association in Sauraha, Mr. Deepak Bhattarai, from now on, tourists visiting Sauraha will be able to take part in all the activities of the national park.
