Chula Vista Resort’s ‘Plate It Forward Project’: A New Initiative to Tackle Hunger in Wisconsin Dells

Published on November 2, 2024

In the spirit of the holiday season, Chula Vista Resort has launched the “Plate It Forward Project” to support local families facing food insecurity in Wisconsin Dells and surrounding communities. This initiative, in partnership with the Central Wisconsin Community Action Council (CWCAC), invites resort guests and local residents to donate non-perishable food items, which will be matched pound-for-pound by the resort.

Guests staying at Chula Vista Resort can contribute to this initiative by donating items like canned proteins, grains, vegetables, and essential cooking staples at collection points throughout the resort. In return, guests receive exclusive discounts on resort packages, while non-resort visitors gain discounts on waterpark passes. All collected items will be distributed to food pantries across Adams, Columbia, Dodge, Juneau, Marquette, Sauk, Waushara, and Wood counties to support local families in need.

Krissy Kaminski-Sigmund, Vice President and Owner at Chula Vista Resort, emphasized the importance of community support: “Through the Plate It Forward Project, we hope to inspire guests to join us in making a meaningful difference for our neighbors this holiday season. By matching every donation, we’re amplifying our resort community’s generosity and helping to ensure that no family goes hungry.”

The Plate It Forward Project will continue throughout the holiday season, aligning with Chula Vista Resort’s dedication to supporting the community. Monetary donations for CWCAC can also be made directly on their website to further aid their efforts.
