The emergency crews met EasyJet’s flight EZY6819 as it came into the Schoenefeld Airport of the German city on Wednesday afternoon. The captain called for a priority landing after smell of fumes was reported suddenly on board the aircraft.
Though it had taken off from Glasgow Airport 30 minutes late, the flight had come into Berlin quite prior to its schedule around 1.51 p.m.
EasyJet said that some of the future flights might be delayed to certain extent because of works being conducted by engineers on the plane. A spokeswoman for the airline said that EasyJet has confirmed that the captain on the flight EZY6819 that was travelling from Glasgow to Berlin had requested an expedited landing here owing to smoke smell reports in the flight deck.
The spokesperson of the airline said that emergency services met the aircraft upon arrival and all the passengers were able to disembark normally thereafter.
The engineers of EasyJet are working in Berlin with an aim to identify and resolve the issue.
